ARVN Airborne Windproof Camouflage Boonie

Dated: Early 1960s

Description: Multiple piece construction, jump wings insignia on front. Boonies made from multiple scraps of camouflage were common in the early years of the republic when camouflage material was relatively scarce. The ARVN windproof pattern of camouflage was mostly used by airborne troops. This particular cap features jump wings insignia applied to the front, which was typical practice among airborne troops. Caps of this type (as with the ARVN windproof camouflage itself) were mainly used in the early 1960s.
