Description: Painted US made M1 Helmet. Helmets with this style of camouflage were commonly used by troops in all branches of the ARVN, in particular in the late 1960s-70s. Airborne, Ranger, as well as regular army troops can be seen in period photographs with helmets with this style of camouflage. The specific layout of the camouflage varied, but were mostly based on ARVN ERDL or Ranger pattern camouflage. As with ranger helmets, helmets with this style of camo paint are often faked today. The helmet shown here comes with strong provenance.
