Dated: 1960-70s
Description:Three piece pattern, lightweight poplin material. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Vietnam typically wore wool berets, but camouflage varieties were used, often employed by members of the Special Forces, Provincial Reconnaissance Units, but also Airborne and Ranger troops on occasions as well as others. The example here is done in what is often referred to as "Ranger" camouflage, a pattern first appearing in large numbers among Ranger troops although it is unknown whether or not this pattern was originally designed specifically for that branch.
