Dated: Late 1950s-60s
Description: Model 1926 French Adrian Helmet, blue-silver, with National Police metal badge. A leftover from the French Colonial period, this helmet was employed for use by the National Police. Originally issued in green olive drab, this helmet was repainted and adorned with National Police insignia. The role of the National Police went well beyond the normal duties of a civil police force, functionally serving as another branch of the armed forces. National Police units were often the first on the scene in engagements, particularly in cities and population centers.
