ARVN Enlisted Dress Uniform

Description: Four pockets, Four button enclosure. The enlisted pattern dress uniform (this piece bearing insignia for a corporal of the military police), was distinguishable from the officer pattern by two features: a lack of epaulettes, and no piping embroidery on the cuffs. The same pattern cut was used in both the khaki and dark brown (uniform shown here) army enlisted dress uniforms.

Airborne officer, circa late 1960s, visiting the Gettysburg battlefield while on training in the US, note the epaulettes and cuff piping not present on enlisted dress uniforms.
